Events

Myth Madness

LHS runs Myth Madness, a certamen-style academic competition, every week for middle school students in order to prepare them for the Pegasus Mythology Exam later in the year. We use a competitive and fun learning environment to teach and foster interest in classical mythology.

Latin Honor Society Induction

We held our annual Latin Honor Society Induction in the fall, swearing in our top scholars in Latin III to the St. Jerome Chapter of LHS. Current members of LHS read from Horace's Epistle, and co-president Liam O'Toole shared a reflection on what LHS and Latin overall have meant to him. After the inductees pledged their commitment, we celebrated with apple cider and pumpkin cake.

Mythopaloosa

Marist is hosting its eleventh annual Mythopaloosa in February. Games, contests, and activities will help students from across the Archdiocese of Atlanta prepare for the Pegasus Mythology Exam in March. This day is sure to be filled with fun, learning, and pizza!

Latin Liturgy of the Hours

Marist's annual Latin service, hosted by Latin Honor Society, was celebrated in the chapel, featuring hymns, prayers, and more, all in Latin. Participants experienced how Catholic liturgies were originally celebrated, featuring prayers such as the Pater Noster, the Adoro Te, and Marist's favorite, the Salve Regina.
