Summer Activities

The JCL year extends into the summer with two notable trips.

Italy Trip

The day after exams ended last May, a group of seven Latin and Greek students traveled with our teachers to Italy to visit the sites they had learned about over the past few years. They traveled to Naples, Herculaneum, Pompeii (where they stopped by the house of Caecilius!), Paestum, Sorrento, Capri, Sperlonga, and Rome.

NJCL Convention

At the end of July, one Marist JCLer traveled with the Georgia JCL delegation to the University of Louisiana, Lafayette for the annual National JCL convention. The event comprised of a week full of academic tests, athletic competitions, energy-filled assemblies, and many other Latin-related activities.
